To counter the energy crisis, the EU Commission presented the REPowerEU<\/a> strategy, whose measures are based on energy saving, diversification of supply and acceleration of the green transition. The planned investments would amount to approximately 210 billion euros.<\/p>\n

Within the RePowerEU plan, the European Commission has included the proposal to make photovoltaic panels mandatory for all public and commercial buildings from 2026 onwards, once a specific size has been exceeded. The panels will subsequently become mandatory for all residential buildings from 2030.<\/p>\n

Renewables<\/h4>\n

The measure would be part of the projects to extend the share of electricity produced from renewable sources, the target of which would be raised from 40 to 45% by 2030 (today the share is 22%). To facilitate the installation of wind and photovoltaic systems, the European Commission in agreement with the Member States will define specific geographical areas where to install.<\/p>\n

hydrogen<\/h4>\n

Not only photovoltaics and solar panels, the plan also aims at an increase in the production of renewable hydrogen in the European Union.
