Extraordinary maintenance of the Germagnano gora

Description:

The gora di Germagnano is an artificial canal that crosses the town, with the aim of providing the necessary water supply to the citizens for irrigation on private properties and for the numerous wash houses located throughout the municipal area. In order to maintain its efficiency, the Client commissioned Anthemis Environment to design the extraordinary maintenance works of the infrastructure.

The drafting of the final project included several inspections, carried out in August 2020, which made it possible to observe the conditions, verifying the state of conservation and functionality of the artifacts of which it is composed, in order to define the necessary interventions. Therefore, the following have been envisaged: cleaning of open and ducted sections, pruning of plant coverings and rationalization of the infrastructure by increasing the diameters of the channels / pipes in some sections, in order to favor the flow of flows even in the event of extraordinary meteorological events; interventions to restore installations, in order to limit water losses (coverings of channels with half pipes)
